Geographic Location

The Union of Myanmar is the largest country in the Indochina Peninsular with a total area of 676, 577 square kilometers. It is situated between the Latitudes 09 32 N and 28 31N ; and Longitudes 92 10 E and 101 11 E. The country stretches over 2090 km from North and over 925 km east to west. It has a 2832 km long coastline on the Indian Ocean. Over 50% of the total land area is covered with forests.

Its neighboring countries are People's Republic of China with 2185 km, India with 1463 km, Kingdom of Thailand with 1800 km, Laos with 235 km and Bangladesh with 193 km.
